Classic Yemeni Salad

This classic salad is the perfect pairing for many Yemeni stews, appetizers, and rice-based dishes. Everything is chopped up into tiny bite size pieces so that it can be enjoyed as a side or topping.


Don't pay too much attention to the quantities suggested for the salad ingredients. Add more or less of each ingredient based on your preference.


You can prep the undressed salad ahead of time and keep it refrigerated until you are ready to serve. Before serving, just toss in the dressing - its that easy!




Ingredients:


Dressing: :تتبيلة السلطة

1 tsp sea salt ملعقة ص ملح

1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper ربع ملعقة ص فلفل أسود

Juice of 1 lemon عصير ليمونة كاملة

3 tbsp apple cider vinegar ثلاثة ملاعق ك خل التفاح

2 tbsp olive oil ملعقتين ك زيت زيتون

1.5 tsp ground cumin ملعقة ص كمون


Salad:

1/2 cup dill, finely chopped نص كباية شبت

3/4 cup parsley, finely chopped ثلاثة أرباع كباية بقدونس

3/4 cup green onions, finely chipped ثلاثة أرباع كباية بصل أخضر

3/4 cup green peppers, finely diced ثلاثة أرباع كباية بيبار أخضر

4 cups romaine lettuce, chopped into thin strands أربعة كبايات خس مقصص شرائح

1/2 cup red onion, finely diced نص كباية بصل أحمر

1/2 cup roma tomatoes, finely diced (remove pulp) نص كباية طماطم

3/4 cup cucumbers, finely diced ثلاثة أرباع كباية خيار

1/2 cup red radishes, thinly sliced نص كباية فجل
